In 1968, Woman's Hospital opened its doors, becoming one of the first women's specialty hospitals in the nation. Today, our team of dedicated staff and physicians delivers more than 8,000 babies each year, making Woman’s the 16th largest delivery service in the country and the largest in Louisiana. In addition, the hospital performs more than 7,000 surgeries, 45,000 mammograms, and 80,000 Pap tests on an annual basis. Woman’s Hospital is a not-for profit organization. All funds earned over expenses are reinvested into the hospital, allowing us to build state-of-the-art facilities and recruit highly qualified staff to better service your health care needs. We remain committed to serving the people in the surrounding community, and support many worthwhile health care initiatives aimed at helping to achieve our mission: to improve the health of women and infants.
